Burnt out on classical violin, I stopped playing for 20 yrs after college, but changing genres changed my tune.

LISTEN TO: Never Too Old Never Too Late
After college I put away my violin because I knew I wasn't going to compete in the pro classical world. But I still missed playing, and 20 years later decided to make a new start after meeting a rock violinist.

I took improv lessons from her, then started looking for a band. Now 4 years later, I play over 100 gigs a year with 4+ bands, rocking out with my Fishman Loudbox Performer and Loudbox 100 amps and Skyinbow electric 5-string with Fishman pickup.

Occasionally someone in the crowd will call me "Grandma", but not after I rip up the stage with 3 sets of Irish Punk tunes!
