ProEQ Redefines and Clarifies ContraBass

Just played my first gig with my electric upright bass running through the Fishman ProEQ/Preamp and I'm Ecstatic!
This last year, I've returned to playing upright bass with the Cuban Son/Salsa band Los Sugar Kings. Previously I'd been using a muted thumb technique with my favorite fretless to approach the sound I was looking for. Last year, I purchased an electric upright and though the basics of the sound I wanted were there, it was always too boomy and lacked definition... so much so that I bought a keyboard amp that had less bass response and still rolled off the low end. If only I'd come to you guys before... Just this week my guitarist let me try a Fishman ProEq/Preamp on our gig. I must say, I'm completely blown away... I've always known that you guys make great gear but never imagined I'd get that great a sound out of my electric upright. People who've seen Los Sugar Kings many times came up to me on the break to comment specifically on how much better my bass sounded and how much better they could hear the whole band. I'm getting my doghouse going again with gut strings next and can't wait to outfit it with a Full Circle. Whatever magic power you guys sprinkle in your gear, it's made me into the happiest bass player around.
